Wednesday night, after I posted, I tried to sleep, but I developed a pretty high fever. My normal temperature is 97 (not 98.6) and my fever went up to 100.6. I slept off and on all night sweating and having chills, and then it was time to get up for class.
I went to school and all my friends told me to go home because not only did I look awful, but I also wasn’t missing anything. So I went back home and slept til noon, then went back to school.
I studied at school until around 7, then came home and went to bed, unintentionally. I tried to study for the test I had this morning, but I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I feel asleep and woke up around nine, and, for some reason, had a strong desire to watch “Walking with Cavemen” on the Discovery Channel, which was interesting. Then I went back to sleep.
I took a test this morning that I really only studied for yesterday, and only for three hours. Which is shocking for me since I have been putting days into my tests these days. But I was unable to function, so I did what I could.
I ended up getting an 80% on the test, which brought my grade from a 92% to an 88%. I’m a little bummed I lost my A, but I’m still not giving up on my A.
I called off work tonight because, honestly, if I went to work, they’d send me home. I sound like I am really stuffed up, but in reality, what is happening is my throat is about swollen shut.
I haven’t worn make up in three days, nor have I been able to eat much except soup and water and mashed potatoes. Hopefully, this will go away by tomorrow. If it doesn’t I’m going to the ER so at the very least, I get a written excuse if I have to call off work again.

Jen, sorry you are sick. It seems worse to be sick this time of year. Do antibiotics do any good for something like what you are battling? Or, are you expected to simply to endure it without any useful medication?
