Whole Foods

I used to be one of those people who thought anyone who strictly ate organic food was a pretentious poser, but I have to admit, I changed my mind thanks to two little words – Whole Foods.

I just started eating there regularly in my last semester of class since it’s right across the street and the only other options we had were the shitty cafeteria, Pizza Hut, and McDonald’s if we were willing to walk a few blocks in East Liberty.

The three most delicious foods I’ve eaten in my whole life come from Whole Foods. Salmon and Wild Bean soup. Salmon Corn Chowder. Salad.

First of all, if you know me, I’m not a sea food eater and the fact that I am in love with two soups that contain salmon is shocking.

And I know, you’re thinking ‘Big deal, salad’. They must put something in it to make it so addicting because I’m telling you, once you eat a salad from their salad bar, you’ll never be happy with any other salad ever again. I suggest the Russian vinegarette dressing.

      That is all.

I don’t want to quibble, Jen, but I think that you praised the macaroni and cheese at the cafeteria. I recall that it was so tasty that you and some other students asked for it. Of course, you can’t live on macaroni and cheese alone.
By the way, I suppose that you’ve heard the gibe about the prices at Whole Foods Market: It’s called “Whole Paycheck Market”. I suppose that you’re pretty knowledgeable about grocery stores, since you worked in one.
