Overhaulin’

So, as a woman, when life makes you feel like a piece of crap and you really want something to change, drastically and fast, you do the only thing you can do.

You change you hair. At least, that’s what I’ve always done.

I just purchased Loreal’s Haircolor Removal Kit and slopped it on my head. Before reading the directions, naturally, becase reading the directions would take up way way too much time.

The liquid that I pored into my black brown hair was purple, thin, and smelled strangely of bleach.

As I slopped it into the ends first (as they have been dyed the most and require to most time for adequate removal, something I figured out without reading the directions) and then into the roots, I was not surprised when I got it all over the comfy gray pants I stole from my brother a year ago and the rug from Target I bought in August. It’s par for the course. When I dye/un-dye my hair, something gets ruined.

So, I was just looking over the directions… “When tint removal is completed, your hair will appear alightly red/orange in color. This will be remedied when you retint.”

Well that totally sucks ass since I didn’t buy any new hair dye, only the remover. Looks like I’ll be a pumpkin head until I get off my ass tomorrow to go buy more dye.

Highlights under the section entitled “IMPORTANT INFORMATION”, in bold red letters in a red box on an otherwise white page, almost as if it’s saying “Please, this is really important, read this before you do anything stupid.”

     Shut up, directions.

Anyways, highlights in this menacing section include:

Do not apply to brittle or damaged hair.

Hm. Well, I just dyed my hair last week and I blow it dry and straighten it every day… but I don’t think it’s damaged.

I hope my hair doesn’t fall out. Seriously, internet, if my hair falls out and I’m bald tomorrow, I did not pull a Britney, I merely didn’t read the directions on my hair un-dye.

My favorite part is under the “Rinse, Shampoo, and Dry” section. ”Shampoo hair very gently to complete procedure. (Do not rub scalp.) Dry thoroughly. Hair is now ready to be retinted to the new shade of your choice. (Avoid heat and excessive scalp manipulation).

Ooooooohhhhhhhh no. Sounds like my hair is going to fall out when I wash it because how can one wash hair without manipulating the scalp? Seriously?

I’ll let you know how it turns out and what I choose to do after this. Assuming I have hair left.
