Bring it

As you may recall, I purchased a new cell phone about 26 days ago. Yes, I know it was 26 days ago because, well, I have 30 days to return it and IT FUCKING BROKE.

Here’s the kicker… They won’t replace it. Yes, it has physical damage. But, unlike the other 40 phones I’ve had, this one did not get dropped into a toilet or glass of water, didn’t get beer spilled on it, didn’t get thrown off a third story balcony, and did not get eaten by a dog. No, this one sat in my purse oin a ride back to Shadyside and, somehow, the screen cracked.

Now, I know it didn’t spontaneously crack. I realize something cracked it. But whatever it was was not something that had the force one would normally assume it would take to break a cell phone, a cell phone I was told was “practically indestructable” since it’s made out of stainless steel.

I was on the phone with AT&T twice and was told that the only thing I can do is go plead my case with the manager of the store and if she decides to replace it, then I can get a new one. And, let me tell you, if she does NOT decide to replace it, I will be switching to another cell phone provider. Why am I going to pay $200 for a new phone when I can cancel my phone and get a new, free one for $175, plus the added satisfaction of knowing that I won’t have to give another cent of money to a company that is pissing me off?

Urgh. I am so angry. Nothing can be done until Thursday. But, come Thursday, it’s on, AT&T on Penn Ave.

Here’s a suggestion. I don’t know if you have a contract or not, but if you do, and you’d be penalized if you broke the contract, buy a to-go phone. I’ve done this, and I know other people that have, too. They start at about $25. Just replace the sim card with your old phone’s. Brittani’s broken a phone and washed a phone, and we’ve done it twice already. Good luck!
